Therapy
Pittsburgh Stuttering provides individualized treatment based on the unique needs of each client. The general goal of therapy is always to improve quality of life by decreasing the negative effects that stuttering may cause. Here are some examples of how we will work together to achieve those goals
Education - to develop a deeper understanding of what stuttering is and learn how to advocate for yourself or your child
Acceptance - to work toward improving self-confidence and developing healthier attitudes about your communication

Minimizing your negative reactions toward stuttering, such as fear and anxiety, so you can decrease avoidance behaviors and increase participation in speaking situations and social settings
Decreasing tension during speaking so that you can communicate more easily, with less effort
